I remember a thing my mum told me some time ago about when my brother was in kindergarden and 'the Power Rangers' were popular especially for young boys. My parents didn't want my brother to watch the Power Rangers because they thought it was too violent for a 4-year old boy. As my brother always has been such a calm person he accepted it and told his friends he wasn't allowed to watch that programme. One day when my mother went to pick him up, one of his friends said to my mum that if she didn't let my brother watch power rangers he would kick her! I mean, if you say that thing at such an early age you have seen too much kicking somewhere. Then imagine what the small boys that go to cybers to play counter strike, or some other of those games in which you just have to kill eachother. What will those kids say to the parents that won't let their kids play those games? This will probably get worse and worse.
I'm not saying that all videogames are bad for us. GTA (Grand Theft Auto) have a lot of bad things but within those bad things you learn how to use a car, at least if you have the "fake steering wheel". You always have to make choices, bad or good ones. You can be the good guy or the bad guy or you can simply play for nothing like I used to do every now and then.
There are also videogames where kid can do their homework. For several years now, students in some schools have been able to, instead of just workbooks, paper and pencil, do some of their math and language assignments on a PlayStation. Isn't that every kid's dream?
Back to my point, don't lump all videogames together.

Video games are many times considered to be dangerous for people who play them everyday. However, I think this is not completely true. Most of the people who like playing video games have their personalities already formed, so, I do not think that a simple game can change something that needed a lot of time to be formed.
Of course, there are some things in VG that are not good for players. But I don't personally think they can really change a personality. For example, there are many VG that are extremely violent. These does not means that the person who is playing it is going to become a violent person. Of course, it can happen once or twice, but not everyone who plays that game is going to became violent. These people who become violent because of the violence they see in a game usually became like this because they have extremelly weak personalities.
In fact, the same happens with films. There are violent films, and not because somebody watches them, he or she wil became violent. There are also films that have sexual content, and nobody does any kind of problem about their existance, they just rate them, and it is the same that happens with VG. so, why do they really hate VG? I do not know...
Many people (generally video games players), say that not just video games are not nocive, but that they are very good for players. This people think that video games help people in many aspects. People say VG help players at the times of taking important decisions, because as while they are playing they are taking decisions all the time, they get prepared for the time in wich they have to take real and important decisions. In fact, VG are sometimes used by some companies and universities use them for teaching their students or employees For example, pilots are may time trained using VG. As it is very dangerous to teach them in real planes if they don't know very well how to drive the planes, they are taught using VG that imitate a real plane flight.
In my opinion, Vg are just a way of having fun. As there are films, sports, etc. I think people does not have to make taht problem because of a VG, if you do not like them, just do not buy them! People konw very well what they are doing and what they are playing to, so.. MIND YOUR OWN BUSSINESS! LIVE YOUR LIFE, AND LEAVE OTHERS LIVE THEIR LIFES..

I think that video games are not all bad .. some are just to entertain, others are educational, and others are rather bad .. as they show sex or violence or anything related to drugs or alchool..of course all this influence children's behaviour.
When you are a child you always try to imitate what your parents do and what you see..and of course if you play video games you will probably do what they show.. the most common thing is violence..if a child plays a video game that have sences of violence,he will probably fight.
If you are a mature person you will understand that it is only a game and you will not copy what they show. But when you are 4 or 5 years old you are not so mature so there are more possibilities that you do what they show.
Day by day technology improves,so video games does too,as they take part of technology. There are lost of video games and I think that in the future there will be more and more and people of all ages will start playing.
I really get susprised when I see childreen playing video games at 3 o'clock in the morning..i can't understand that because i really don't like to plat those sorts of games.
Everything has is good side and it bad one,you only have to take the good one (taht in this case is to enjoy playing) and avoid the bad one (that is imitates what you see, unless it's teachs you something good).
I can't for get to talk about the good video games.. as I said before some of them are educational and others have a good moral sence. They provide a fun and social form of entertainment and at the same time they teach.
To conclude my opinion about video games, I want to advise parents to think before buying video games to their children, and try to choose the good ones and put limits,I mean to control haw much time their children play, and if they do it frecuently try to stop them, because then it will become an adiction.-

Video games are games that nowadays are known almost by everybody. Technology has improved a lot and arrived to Argentina, where people of all ages use it for their own benefit. But what about video games? Are they all healthy and educational? Do video games make changes in our lives? We can analyze many things about them.

There are lots of different video games, and according to their style, we can classify them into educational ones, or just made for people to have fun or pleasure. Here in Argentina there are several video games, such as Mario Bros, Wonder Boy, or games taken from Disney movies or other cartoon shows. We can classify them as video games for kids to have fun, not only for children but for adults to pass their free time. It’s unbelievable, but they do! Some parents may want to go to sleep and rest, while others like to play The Lion King video game or construct houses with Sims. These games contribute to make our minds react quickly, because when we play these kind of games we tend to make lots of decisions in a short period of time. That’s a positive thing of any video game we play. While we are playing, our mind can be listening to music, or maybe we have a glass of coke on one hand and drink it while we are jumping to the next level. Also with our homework. We can be choosing a dress for a Barbie while we solve a math exercise for school, and that makes our brain work hard, even though we don’t realize about it. Not only fun video games but educational video games are also great for children to learn any subject, as well as maths with Maths with Pipo, or how to take care of pets, with Sims Pets, and even how to build a huge building with Sims. You can even learn how to invest your money and how to organise parties with these new video games that come out every month. That’s very useful for grown ups. They let us learn lots of things by such simple ways, and that’s wonderful. You can learn more things in less time, and that’s great.

Now, we know these educational video games, or maybe video games to pass the time, that are not destructive at all, but what about the video games that have violence scenes, in which you HAVE to kill somebody to win, or there are sexual scenes, with two people of the same sex, or drugs scenes, where your obligation is to hide drugs and sell them, but hide them so that the police doesn’t find you? Well, these games of course must be under law. Not everybody can play these types of games. Little children shouldn’t play Counter Strike or choose different kind of guns to shoot according to the distance they are from their enemies. Or boys that are 10 years old shouldn’t be seeing two women kissing each other during a game recess, I mean, what kind of formation do these games give these children? That’s why parents play a very important role in front of video games. They must be aware of what games their kids play and put the limits they must have and need to have, as they are growing and do not have a strong personality that knows what is good and what is bad. Remember, anything that your eyes see may influence your own life, for good or bad.

Benefits, Consequences and Development.

Videogames are one of the most important and accesible way of entertainment. This is because of their benefits and their development since they were created. But all over this there is people that i against videogames because of the consequeces they bring. Which consequences do they bring? How will this affect the future?
There are many benefits in videogames, they can develope peoples reaction and thinking speed, they can help in social skills and being in touch with other countrie's cultures or languages. The reason is that when you play games in which you use your mind with a time limit, for example, math games, school games, etc., you learn how to think faster and you also learn or memorize the answer which helps you to become faste, the reaction speed can be developed in games of shooting where you have a time limit and your enemies appear suddenly and you have to shoot them before they shoot you.Social skills can be developed through online games, or playing with your class mates with who you dont talk to, this poots you in contact with a lot of people and developes your social skills, playing online games can poot you in contact with people of another countries which poots you in touch with pother cultures and languages, you can also practice languages like english when you talk to people in the USA or Ingland.
Videogames sound like the best thing when you see it through this aspect but when you know the consequences they bring you can't be sure if you want to be in favor or against them. For example there is people that plays games for fun but others plays them only AO content.Parents complane of this(which is verry resonable).Another problem is the violence shown in this games, which can affect boys way of thinking, there maturity and can make them more violent. It all depends of their maturity.
After reading this you can be against or in favor of games(as i mentioned before), but all over this we can see tecnologies development through games development.Videogames are verry diferent of wha they were before. When they were first created they were big and could be found only in bars or places like this, but years later, with the Atari Company, games started to develop and became smaller and could be played in houses, this continued untill it reached what we have now.
Games can be good or bad, it depends of the players intention and age, it also depends on the time spent(which should be controled by the player).Their creators have developed them for ou entertainment and also rates them for our security, after we buy it it all depends on us.

Why people like to have fun? Is it because they feel good with this? Is it because you can spend your free time on doing something that makes you feel happy? Or is it just because everyone needs to have fun sometime in their lives?
Humanity has always played games. This is known as the best way to forget about our problems and about our obligations too. But, if games make us have a good time are not them one of the responsibles of laziness in our society? I do not think so, as traditional games can be exciting but they are not generally a vice. The nowadays games are not anymore a sport or a recreative activity, they have become a vice. This is where Video-games appear.
To play video games you depend on the latest technology .So, if we depend on tech to play what we like, are not we becoming a ``techno dependants`? So if you need something so normal and available as technology, your chances of gaming are infinite. But…what happens when there is a REALLY abuse of this infinite source of modern fun? I’ll tell you what happens, we forget about the whole world and we just don’t care anymore of anything in anyplace at anytime. This does not mean that you become a violent person, it just means that you become part of a group that does not really know what to do as they do not acre about anything more than to have some good time.
Technology has given to all of us the chance to have access to all types of games, but we have also got so inside the latest features that we have become careless of our family and our society. I am not against Games at all; neither are they the traditional nor the latest ones. I am against what society nowadays do with them: they forget about the world and make thing wrong as the games absorb them and not the other way round.
Games are just another way to have fun, but everything has a limit. So, in order to put a limit, why don’t we start to see games just as what they are and also start to think that there is a time for everything. And now is time for changes

Video games can be good or bad, it depends on the ponit of veiw taht anyone have.I am totally against video games.Maybe because I have never played with one or because I prefer barbies or other toys.I have to remark that I an not so "friend" of technology, maybe thats the reason why I hve never played with one.
Nowadays video games are really very popular and common in our society. All the ages, boys, gilrs, teens, children, grown up peolple.
The diference of social classes don`t matter in this aspect.Everyone can reach to get them.Play station`s, computer`s ,and also games in the mobile phones are some of the most common video games. This popularity of video games is having repercussion on society.Because I consider that video games are transformed into a vice. Many young people are hours and hours playing in front of a tv or a computer.Instead of playing outside, doing sports or studying.
Also I think that video games are not so good. There are not educational or functional,no useful and they are also violent.I think that some people that play a lot video gaming show the same attitud towards them.Is not the same as those that play a short time for distraction.
I am against videogames because ones I saw my brother playing to one in the computer and was really horrible killing others, blood everywhere, destruction and I realise that was a wasting of time and that have a really bad influence over teens and young people.
The time that someone spent in playing this type of game depends on eachone.I think that people have to moderate with the time and parents have to take care if their children also.
Not all the video games are bad, but the mayority yes. People that use videogaming a an useful element is acceptable, but they have to be mind-training, satisfying, brain-activators,educationl and functional also they have to be play in an appropiated moment.
I t is a good technology invention, but if you use it a the good way, we have to take advantage of them and not ruin our minds and life because of them.

A vast range of products for entertainment has been created in the last few years. Everyday we can see new products on the markets, but at the same time, we can read more and more criticisms about them in the newspaper. One of those products that have become exceedingly successful among teenagers and adults is the video game. Video games can be educational, mind-training and thrilling; or it can be a harmful tool that leads people to the wrong path.
It is true that there are video games that contain aggressive episodes or inappropriate contents that are banned for certain age, but we can’t erase completely from our mind that some of them has contributed us as our mind-activators. Some of them transmit us knowledge in a way in which is completely different from school, they make us think and decide, not to throw in easily, and the most important thing is that it makes us be more self-confident. Obviously being caught and being drifted is off-putting. If we spend too much time on it, we will become like a couch potato. We may become more aggressive, but what is sure is that we will spend less time with our friends, our family.
I think that video games are in general beneficial. Some of them may have no functional or educational purpose, but they are just another way of entertainment, like the music and the films. Gaming itself is not harmful, it is just a matter of self-control and putting limits.

Lots of children spend hours and hours in front of a screen playing videogames. But are they useful?educative?or just junk?
I think that video games are good as a way to entertain and kill time, but i`m totally against of those children, or parents that let their children, be all day long playing those video games, especially violent ones.
Some people think that playing violent video games can affect the behaviour of this kid.But i think that it depends on the person. Some people is more aware to adapt some types of attitudes toward them than others.
Others think that they help to develop some skills like taking quick decisions or in a short period of time.
For me video games are not bad, but only when they are played with moderation and they don`t become a vice, because you may say that they are just videogames, but every vice is bad. Also video games can bring health problems like headaches, sight problems, and also psychological ones.
Many video games are educative, and many companies or even universities uses them for teaching to their students or employees.
So we can see that not all of the video games are bad, or good. It depends on each person, age and sex.
The world is developing more and more everyday and we have each day new models of video games and new types. They are not bad for us, in order that we know how to use them, and we can make a difference between playing them just to have fun or as a way to learn some things, and becoming addict to them.

Do games help people or do they hurt people? This is one of the modern world dilemas. Some people say they help, and give valuable learning skills to the ones who play them, other say they are dangerous, and that they increase violence in kids or whoever plays vaideo games.By this we can apreciate that;there are types of video games, and also taht there are types of people, in a videogamer way of speaking.
Video games are clasified depending their content:educational content, agressive content, sexual content, tactical content, etc. For example:Nintendo company, classifies videogames in different levels, k(kid),m(middle aged),and AO(Adults only);video games who have high sexual content will be a AO classification.
Older people believe, as they don´t really know how videogames are prepeared,(generally)that videogames are harmfull and that they don`t lead to any good. This kind of people, every time they hear videogames, automatically thinks about violence, and other bad things. They don´t know many video games have their good part, thei educational part, they are afraid of changing, they are old fashioned people who are afraid of opening to a new great world, full of entretainment, full of joy, as videogaming world is.
Aldo videogaming as for the people, who in a certain period of their lifes, have played videogames,it`s a fantastic world,we must admit that certain kind of games are not apropiate for children; and in some ways they end up corrupting little kids minds. As everything videos gaming has its good side and its bad side, this is an unevitable contradiction,as where thers light, theres always darknes foward.
Video games are known in every little part of the world and its played by people of all ages, and its also hated and looked down by people of all ages in every little part of the world. So Lets just make something clear, nothing and no one is perfect .Every thing has good things and bad things, the only thing we can do ;its try to get mostly the good things of everything, and we would have a better life, without problems.

I’ve heard lots and varied points of view about video games. Wether they are good or bad, as far as graphics are concerned, it doesn’t really matter; but what is meaningful about them, is how mind-training they can be. I know video games which's mission rate goes from simply rescuing a princess, to organizing your own army to go to war. The use of tactics, strategies in games have become very popular, which is very important, for it makes you more creative towards different situations that may be presented to you in life; for example: it boosts your creativity in order to make a better school project.

Harmful video games, such as GTA, are way different than the previously mentioned ones. They just show violence and explicit content on the screen , having no sense at all in the development of our mental capacities. The true esence of what a video game is, can be explained through the things you learn from them, so, having fun playing, means a way to learn, to produce, to think.

From my personal experience, I can state that there are video games which are worth playing: I once had the opportunity of studying history, and practising my second language, at the same time I was having fun, and I could also make a sort of cultural exchange online, by talking with people from far away, while I was doing quests to raise experience, in order to level my character up.

Besides this, we know that addicitions, such as drugs and alcohol may take you on the wrong track, and video game overuse, is not exempt. We should set a time limit before the game begins, and we should consider alternatives activities when video game playing time is up, as well as considering to complete homework or chores, whithout the interference of video games. After all, videogames are only part of a fictional reality that has the objective of stressing you out, for a certain ammount of time.
